Membership

 

The club provides different membership options to suite the interests of its members. All fees are to be paid at the beginning of the year and valid until the end of the same calendar year. Membership is open to

  • ESTEC staff and retired staff, including their family members
  • ESTEC contractors, YGTs, stagiares, PhDs, … and their family members

Associate Member
If you are not an active pilot, but you are interested in the social events, joining the fly-outs or having a ride with one of our members through the sky, you can join the club as an associated member. The associate membership fee is 10€.

Full Member
The full membership fee for the ESTEC Flying club is 40€. It gives you access to all equipment, planning software, training material, flight journals and you will receive your personal Dutch ICAO map of the current year.

Full Member Add-on Options
The following options are available to the Full Member scheme:

  • Club Plane Access
    The yearly fee to get access to the club plane is  500€. The hourly wet rate is 80€.
  • EasyVFR FFM flight planning and execution software
    The club offers the EasyVFR FFM software license with group discount and additional 50% funding from the club for 50€ per year. The license can be requested at any time and will be valid for 1 year as of the time of registration.
  • EasyVFR FFM Flarm Decoder
    EasyVFR offers as of verison 4.0 integration of the uAvionix SkyEcho 2 identified traffic on the display. ADS-B based traffic is natively supported, whereas exact position display of Flarm traffic (proximity alarm without direction indication is supported natively) needs an additional decoder. This option is available through the club with 50% discount for 17.50€.
  • EasyVFR FFM German DFS Approach Charts
    While the approach charts are provided free of charge in the Netherlands, the German air traffic control DFS requests a service charge for them. This option is available through the club with 50% discount for 42.50€.
  • SkyDemon flight planning and execution software
    Offers comparable functionality to EasyVFR, but comes with a more intuitive user interface. First time users have to pay 167€ for the first year. Yearly renewal is 107€. Also here a funding of 50% come from the club for members.
  • SkyDemon Flarm Decoder
    Same function as with EasyVFR. Price:  36€ (18€ for EFC members)
  • SkyDemon DFS Approach Charts
    Same function as with EasyVFR. Price: 59€ (29€ for EFC members)

Therefore, a Full Member membership, including all options with EasyVFR SW, would be 665€. The same setup, not including club plane access is 165€. All other combination are obviously also possible.

How to join
Simply transfer the fee corresponding to your intended membership scheme to the ESTEC Flying Club bank account and inform the club chairman and treasurer via email.
